To keep Croydon creative, we’re continuing with our blogs to provide you with resources to tap into to keep you inspired. This week we have a focus on some of the art gallery online offerings. Take time to explore their websites as there’s a host of art activity on offer.

Barbican Centre

The Barbican is a hub of an arts centre usually bustling with activity set in the heart of London in its iconic brutalist architecture building. However, like all galleries,it has closed its doors for the moment and opened up its archive of memories for inspiration. Whether you’re looking for something to read, watch or listen, the Barbican has a host of choices for you.

Head to the video section where you can watch short films, plays, music and talks.

The Tate Gallery has a great section for kids with activity ideas galore. From making marbled paper or drawing a fairy tale, this is a great art resource for all ages. There’s also informative background to artists and movements such as Pop Art and Surrealism to help those children looking for more creative inspiration. So, get discovering the Tate for Kids.

Photo London

Photo London is usually held in May and in recent years at Somerset House. It showcases the best of the best in photography and talks with insight from leading artists and curators. Now with the event postponed until the Autumn, Photo London has launched an Academy which builds on the Photo London Public Programme.
